It has been a minute since I checked in, so I wanted to pop by with a little update on what I have been up to.
Honestly, the writing itself has taken a bit of a back seat lately. Instead of drafting, I have been spending my time in a different kind of good company: Writing Hours over at ProWritingAid. If you have not heard of it, it is basically a standing invitation to show up, put your head down, and write alongside other people who are doing the exact same thing. No pressure, no performance, just quiet, steady company while the words happen (or, some days, while they stubbornly refuse to happen, and that is okay too).
The crowd there has honestly been one of the nicer surprises of my year. Encouraging, funny, full of people who understand exactly what it feels like to stare at a blinking cursor for twenty minutes and call it progress. It has been good for my brain and good for my motivation, even on the weeks when my own page count was, let’s say, modest.
The other place my time has gone is a little less visible from over here: my other pen name has a book deep in edits right now, and that project has been pulling a fair amount of my attention lately too. I will not say more than that, since this corner of the internet is for Harlo, but I wanted to be honest about where the hours have been going.
So no big reveal today, no cover, no release date. Just a small, honest update: I am still here, still showing up, and getting recharged by a genuinely lovely little corner of the writing world. The next round of news (and there will be news) is coming. For now, thank you for being patient with me and for still checking in.
More soon, Harlo
