New Story Announcement: Falcon & Manon, Plus Vanilla/Spiced Weekend Updates
Thank you so much for joining Dani and Bex for the ride in Haint Party!
We successfully closed the chapter on Dani’s wild night with her chosen family… the one that left her standing at the altar with one heck of a shiner! From the sheer panic of a haint encounter to the chaotic love of her friends (a witch, a vampire, a psychic, and a newly-revealed smut writer!), it was truly an adventure in finding out exactly how Dani earned that magnificent black eye.
We’ve seen them pull together, learn their secrets, and, most importantly, witness the “always and forever” love between Dani and Bex that makes all the chaos worth it.
Their journey is far from over, but our time here on Substack is done for now. Haint Party is now destined for a final draft and, hopefully, a paperback release! Wish me luck on the home stretch!

Before diving into the next story, here are two quick updates on content and community:
Vanilla/Spiced Weekends are Coming!
In addition to my regular serialized posts, I’ll be using Saturdays and/or Sundays to share more focused, adult-themed short stories.
The December Experiment: I’m calling these the Vanilla/Spiced Weekends for now! For the month of December, I plan to write two versions of the same weekend short story: a Vanilla (romance, but non-spicy) version and a Spiced (focusing on hotter, more adult romance) version.
This will be a fun way to explore new characters and scenarios, and I’m curious to see what sort of reaction this dual-version experiment gets!
Get ready for a holiday season that’s a bit spicier, but always in a romantic way!

Introducing: Falcon & Manon (A Journey Home)
It’s time for the next adventure, and I’m thrilled to share that I’m prepping a story about two characters I’ve wanted to bring out of the “scraps of almost-stories” for a long time: Falcon & Manon.
These two hold a very special, deeply nostalgic place in my heart. They were originally developed by me and a dear friend whom I lost a few years ago. We built their world together, back in the golden era of collaborative storytelling over Yahoo Messenger—remember the constant ping and the electric joy of building a world, one instant message at a time? It was an apprenticeship in fast-paced, uninhibited storytelling.
(Yes, this was also the golden era of fanfic, but we won’t talk about my early-twenties Xena and Forever Knight angst…yet!)
Revisiting Falcon and Manon feels like having a conversation with a cherished memory. While they were born out of youthful enthusiasm, they have matured along with me. They still have their foundational spark, the intense loyalty, and the complex past, but now they carry the weight of hard-won wisdom. This makes them ready for a contemporary narrative exploring deeper themes of resilience and consequence.
Writing this story is going to be a fun, nostalgic, and deeply personal process—a re-connection with the uninhibited joy of my earliest writing days.

Farewell, Haint Party! We successfully finished Dani and Bex’s wild prologue. The Substack serialization is complete, and the book is now moving toward a final draft and paperback release!
