What’s Been Happening: Deliberately Lost
The biggest news is that Deliberately Lost has been through a serious glow-up. What started as one kind of book turned into something looser, funnier, and warmer along the way, more rom-com mystery than I originally planned, with a little more heat in the mix too. There’s a new chapter in there now, one I’m particularly fond of, that changes the rhythm of the whole back half in a way I think you’re going to feel the moment you hit it.
This one’s been a labor of love, and honestly a bit of a turning point for how I want to write going forward. More on that soon.
The Trilogy: Dead Reckoning Is Coming
And now, the one I know a lot of you have been waiting on. Dead Reckoning, book three, the finale of the trilogy that started with A Haunting Before I Do and continued in The Static.
I’m thrilled to say the full structural outline is locked. Every major decision is made. The ghost story at the center of this book, the living threat closing in, the way each of our found family members gets their arc resolved, all of it is mapped and ready. I’m not going to spoil a single thread here, but I will say this book asks some hard questions of Dani and the people who love her, and I think the ending is going to feel earned in a way that makes the whole trilogy click into place.
I know waiting is the worst part. Thank you for hanging in there. I’ll be sharing more as drafting moves along, including some teaser content along the way.
What to Expect Here
This blog is going to be a mix of things: writing updates, sneak peeks, some behind-the-curtain process talk, and probably the occasional tangent about thrifting or urban sketching because that’s just who I am. My goal is for this to feel like a conversation, not a press release.
