The Static is out. I made a thing. Please don’t tell my cat.

So. It’s done. The Static — Book 2 of the Inconveniently Haunted series — is officially a real object that exists in the world and can be purchased by people who are not related to me. This is either a triumph or a cry for help. Possibly both.
What’s it about (the short version)
Dani Wallace is back, the found family is messier than ever, and it turns out the supernatural governing body that’s been making everyone’s lives difficult is even worse than previously advertised. There’s a spreading threat called the Static, a sanctuary that may not hold, and some legacy plot threads that have been quietly waiting since Book 1 to absolutely ruin your day. It’s cozy-adjacent until it isn’t.
For the newcomers
If you’ve wandered in here without reading A Haunting Before I Do — welcome, no notes, but you should probably start there. It’s Book 1. It’s also available wherever you’re about to buy this one. Think of it as the setup for everything that goes wrong in Book 2, which is a selling point, I promise.
How we got here (the honest version)
I will not pretend this book was easy. There was a draft. There were several drafts after that draft. There was a period where I genuinely questioned every choice I’d made, including the choice to write a second book. And then somehow it became this — something I’m actually proud of, with characters I love and a story I think earns its emotional moments. Jolene supervised the final edits. I don’t know if that helped.
Where to find it
Ebook + paperback wide (Kobo, Apple Books, B&N, and more) via Draft2Digital: https://books2read.com/u/3RAqyB
Also on Amazon: https://a.co/d/0iN7PCJg
If you read it, I’d genuinely love a review wherever you bought it. Even a short one. Especially a short one, honestly — they count just as much and take four minutes.
Thanks for being here.
